A faithful reproduction of the great gladiatorial shield used by the gladiator Secutor. The shield is made of bent plywood and is covered with linen on the outside. This fabric strengthens the shield and can be painted on. The edges are edged with rawhide. The top of this shield is semicircular to protect against the opponent's trident strikes.

The shield is a very precise replica designed for modern gladiators. Own production.

Secutor was a type of gladiator in ancient Rome, known for his specific equipment and fighting style. The name "secutor" comes from the Latin word "sequi," meaning "pursuer." The secutor was trained to pursue and fight against other types of gladiators, most commonly the retiarius, who used a net and trident.

The secutor had distinctive armor that included a smooth helmet with small eyeholes, which minimized the possibility of being caught by an opponent's net. The helmet was designed to provide maximum head protection while maintaining adequate visibility. He also carried a short sword (gladius) and a large rectangular shield (scutum), which provided protection from attacks.
