A hand-forged pan stand based on a find from Skipsea, Lincolnshire, England, dating from 1000 to 1100 AD. The find is probably Norman or Anglo-Saxon.
The stand can be easily assembled and disassembled, making it portable. The legs are hammered into spikes and can be sunk into the ground if required.
Wrought iron tripods were used in an almost unchanged form from Roman times through the Middle Ages and into the 19th century.
