It was a hot summer day, the knights were sweating in their armour, many had fallen, the castle was on fire, finally the triumphant call of the horns sounded and everyone, including the fallen, grabbed their cups of delicious beer.
We don't know about other countries, but in Bohemia this is a classic picture of medieval battle reenactments. A picture of good times - beer brings people together.

The legend of the Hussites' siege of Bernau bei Berlin
Like the legend of the founding of the city, the events of the Hussite siege in 1432 revolve around the beer of Bernau. According to legend, Bernau was besieged by 20,000 Hussites in the spring of that year. Left to their own devices, the townspeople threw hot beer and porridge from their walls at the enemy. In addition, the Bernau inhabitants secretly brought beer mixed with various herbs into the Hussite camp, which made it impossible for the attackers to fight the next day. The besieged then attempted a raid the following day and drove the surprised enemy from the march. Even today, the town celebrates its great victory every year with the battle cry "Bernaus beer and Bernaus porridge liberate the march from the Hussites.
