The trilobite is an extinct marine arthropod that lived in the primordial seas approximately 520 to 250 million years ago. It is one of the most famous fossils in the world. Its body was divided into three longitudinal parts - hence the name trilobite. Trilobite fossils are found in many areas of the world and are an important source of information about the evolution of life on Earth. Thanks to their distinctive shape and distinctive segmentation, trilobites are a popular motif in jewellery, collectibles and decorations.
