Churburg armour without stand

This exceptionally decorative reconstruction of a late medieval knight's armour from Churburg Castle in South Tyrol is made of solid steel.

Of course, in the Middle Ages, plate armour was usually made to measure. However, we offer a standard size suitable for men of average stature and height of approximately 175-180 cm. Adjustable leather straps with buckles are riveted on all important parts, so that some size adjustment is possible. The chest plate in particular offers significantly better adjustment possibilities than other models thanks to its folding mechanism. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a 100% accurate fit cannot be expected with such armour.

The armour consists of the following parts:

  • Helmet

  • Two very elaborate sets of arm protection, consisting of shoulder plates, upper and lower arm guards and elbow wings

  • A pair of very flexible gloves (gauntlet) with brass applications

  • Typical Churburg folding chest plate

  • Two complete pieces of leg protection, including thigh plates (cuisses), knee pads (poleyns), shin guards (greaves) and sabatons (also called solerets)

  • Material: approx. 1,2 mm steel, cowhide straps

  • Total weight: approx. 23.7 kg

  • Inner circumference of helmet: approx. 65 cm

This armour does not include a stand.
