This high-quality handmade medieval cowhide leather belt is a reconstruction of a historical clothing accessory that was commonly used in Central Europe in the late Middle Ages. Belts not only had the function of fastening clothing, but were also used to hang everyday tools, pouches, knives or purses. Unlike modern belts, this type was traditionally longer, with the loose end looping through and flowing freely after fastening, which is consistent with contemporary iconography and archaeological findings.

The buckle type is based on historical models from the 15th century and was modelled on an actual archaeological find discovered near Karlštejn Castle in Bohemia, in the context of the Hussite Wars and the siege of this important royal seat. Such clasps represent a valuable source of knowledge about everyday life, craftsmanship and material culture in the late Middle Ages.

The belt is made of strong cowhide leather, a material traditionally used for its durability and ability to withstand mechanical stress. The buckle is made of a zinc alloy measuring 40 × 50 mm and its shape corresponds to the surviving originals from archaeological finds.
