Helmet - iron hat from Constance Münster - 13th century, steel 1.5 mm, 16ga. This reconstruction of a medieval kettle helmet is inspired by a historical find from Münster (Konstanz Cathedral) and represents a typical head protection from the 13th century. Helmets of this kind were widely used by both foot soldiers and horsemen, due to their simplicity, effectiveness and broad protection against vertical blows. A distinctive feature of this helmet is the wide, horizontal crepe brim, which effectively protected against arrows, blows from above and rain. The helmet is made of 16ga (approx. 1.5 mm) thick steel, which ensures sufficient durability and at the same time acceptable weight. The inner part of the helmet can be completed with leather or textile lining for added comfort and safety. These helmets were often worn in conjunction with a ring hood or hood. This replica is an ideal choice for reenactment, stage fencing, LARP or as a collector's item.
