The Viking sword, or Carolingian sword, was a type of sword used in Western and Northern Europe in the early Middle Ages. The "Viking sword" evolved from the Roman spatha and was used by the Franks in the Carolingian period (751-911).

This costume sword is exclusively handmade. The guard and the characteristic "hat" shaped pommel are made of heat treated nodular cast iron. The blade is hand riveted to the pommel. The hilt is wrapped with leather. The spring steel blade is oil-hardened to approximately 48° Rockwell and has a pronounced fuller for high flexibility and reduced weight. The blade is blunt and the tip is rounded for greater safety.

The beautiful wooden scabbard is covered with leather and features a wooden belt clip (max. belt width 5 cm) and a richly decorated brass end cap.
