The simple design of this hilt is based on the popular one-handed swords of the 14th century. The curved ends of the crossguard and the coin-shaped pommel are typical features of this knight's weapon. Oakeshott in his typology refers to this type of pommel with the letter J and we call this hilt simply – Coin.
