Prussian Officer's Saber with Steel Scabbard

A high-quality replica of a 19th-century Prussian light cavalry officer’s saber, also known as the “lion’s head” saber due to the distinctive shape of the pommel.

The slightly curved, unblunted blade is hand-forged from high-quality high-carbon steel. The edge is unground and approximately 1 mm thick. The blade features a through-tang that is securely bolted to the pommel.

The hilt consists of a wooden core covered with leather and wrapped in brass wire. The guard, the hand guard, and the lion-head pommel are made of brass. The hand guard extends from the lion’s open mouth and flows smoothly into the straight arm of the guard, which ends in a downward-curved teardrop tip.

The saber includes a steel scabbard with two suspension clamps and movable suspension rings for carrying.

This Prussian officer’s saber is not intended for contact historical fencing. It is a decorative collector’s replica that is also suitable as a prop for theater, film, or historical reenactments.
