Cuman sabre inspired by a Hungarian sabre from the Karos-Eperjesszög site. This type of weapon is rooted in the traditions of nomadic steppe warriors – the Cumans (Polovtsians), who were renowned for their horsemanship and light, fast equipment. Their sabres were designed for mounted combat – emphasizing cutting strikes, speed, and efficiency. The curved blade allowed for a smooth slicing motion when passing an opponent, which was characteristic of steppe-style warfare.
Cuman weapons influenced the development of Hungarian and Eastern European arms and became the foundation for later types of sabres used in Central Europe.
