SABINA - the teardrop-shaped labradorite ring is inspired by the jewelry of ancient women, which carried more than just ornamentation. This jewellery follows the tradition of ancient craftsmanship, when precious stones were set to show off their natural shape and charm. The ring is cast in Ag 925/1000 silver and weighs 3 grams, making it a solid yet delicate object of everyday significance.
It is dominated by a 6x9mm teardrop-shaped labradorite cabochon , set so that light can reveal its distinctive, changing blue glow. It is this cool yet vivid blue that makes it look like a reflection of an ancient sky or the reflected surface of an ancient sea. In antiquity, similar stones were considered to be gateways between worlds - labradorite, with its shimmering brilliance, holds the secret of movement, change and inner maturation.
SABINA acts as a found artefact - a silent witness to the old world, whose power is not shown but carried. It is a ring that stays on the finger longer than we intend - for its colour, depth and the subtle grace of things that survive the ages.
