Belt buckle - Carolingian find from Birka, 10th century
This buckle is a replica of an archaeological find from Birka, an important Viking trading centre. The same or very similar finds are also documented in Moravia from the 10th century. The buckle corresponds to early medieval finds from the period of Great Moravia and the subsequent early Premyslid period.
