The Viking necklace with dragon heads is based on a historical find from the island of Gotland in Sweden. The motif of dragon heads on the ends of the jewel is inspired by the original Viking bracelet decorated with this ornament.

The necklace is made up of several braided rods, which makes it strong but flexible at the same time. It can be easily unfastened and adjusted when putting it on. The distinctive dragon heads give the jewel a typical Nordic look and make it an unmissable accessory inspired by the Viking Age.

Neck rings have been a widespread piece of jewellery in many European cultures since antiquity. Although often associated primarily with the Celts, they were also worn by Germanic tribes and later by the Vikings. During the Migration of Nations and the early Middle Ages, neckpieces became a prominent male jewellery symbolising status, wealth and power.

Viking neckerchiefs were most often made of twisted or braided silver or bronze wires and were often finished with decorated heads or hooks. Dragon motifs were among the favourite protective and symbolic elements in Norse art.
