A successful replica of a 10th century Viking sword, based on archaeological finds from England.

As early as the 8th century, sporadic Viking raiding parties made sporadic raids on the British coast for easy prey. From the 9th century onwards, however, the Scandinavians changed their strategy - they began to conquer territory and settle in England.

This sword is made entirely by hand. The guard and the characteristic five-ball pommel are made of steel. The blade is riveted to the pommel. The hilt is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade has a pronounced fuller, which ensures high flexibility and lower weight. The edges of the blade are not sharpened. The wooden core scabbard is covered with leather and equipped with a wooden belt clip (max. belt width 5 cm) and also a richly decorated brass ferrule on the tip.

  • Blade material: spring steel EN45, hardened to approx. 48 HRC
  • Overall length: approx. 95.5 cm
  • Blade length: approx. 79 cm
  • Maximum blade width: approx. 43 mm
  • Centre of gravity: approx. 16 cm from the guard
  • Including leather-coveredwooden scabbard
  • Weight (without sheath): approx. 1200 g

The sword is ideally suited for light stage fencing / film fencing. Hardened to approx. 48 HRC, the sword is not covered by warranty. It is primarily a costume accessory.
