Viking sword Dybäck - inspired by a find from Skåne (8th-11th century)
This sword is a reconstruction of one of the most beautiful examples of Viking weapons found in Scandinavia - the sword from Dybäck in the province of Skåne. It dates from the 8th-11th century and represents a type of weapon that was widespread throughout northern Europe. The original bears the influence of the English school of metalwork known as the Winchester style, and probably belonged to an important warrior or chieftain.
The sword has a brass hilt decorated in gold and silver tone, a broad blade of EN45 high carbon steel and a wooden scabbard covered in leather and hardware. The unsharpened blade makes it suitable for reenactment or decorative purposes.
