The wooden apostle was used in the 17th century as part of the musketeers' equipment. It was designed to carry precise amounts of gunpowder for individual shots. Each soldier usually had twelve of these on his bandolier - hence they were called "apostles". This piece is based on the French type with its typical shape and practical cap.
The apostle is made of hardwood, precisely machined and adapted for functional or decorative use. It is suitable for military-historical events and as an addition to collections from the Thirty Years' War.
