The bascinet evolved in the early 14th century from a helmet called the Cerveliere and was popular until the 15th century.
The offered model includes an aventail (a chainmail curtain) made of spring steel rings 1.6 mm thick, woven in a 4-in-1 pattern, attached with rings and a leather cord. It also comes with an adjustable padded liner.
