The bascinet evolved in the early 14th century from a helmet called the Cerveliere and was popular until the 15th century.
The model on offer includes an aventail (hinge of ring armour) made of 1.6 mm thick spring steel rings, braided in a 4-in-1 pattern, which is attached with eyelets and leather cord. Also included is an adjustable padded lining.
