Bronze belt mount featuring a killer rabbit armed with a bow. The design draws on medieval marginalia – small drawings in the margins of manuscripts depicting fantastical animals, caricatures and scenes that turn the established order upside down. The rabbit, usually the hunted prey, takes on the role of an archer.
The motif is loosely inspired by an illustration of a rabbit with a bow from the summer portion of the Breviary of Renaud de Bar, created in Metz, France, around 1302–1305.
