The Breviary of Renaud de Bar is an illuminated manuscript from 1302–1303, created in France. This breviary, containing liturgical texts, is known not only for its religious function but also for its rich illuminations, which depict curious scenes from medieval life. One of the most remarkable illustrations is the battle of dogs against hares, reflecting the humor of the time and allegorical motifs. The work is associated with Renaud de Bar, the bishop of Metz, and his manuscript is a significant example of Gothic art.
