Original playing card set for Mariáš and Prší. These card games, traditionally associated with pubs and taverns in Bohemia and Moravia, are partly derived from games such as Schafkopf, which is popular in Bavaria. The design of the cards resembles old Austro-Hungarian patterns. The rules are easy to learn even for foreign players.
The artwork of these cards is inspired by the period of the Hussite Wars.
The cards feature motifs of Hussite Taborites, Orebites, Hussites in general, and their enemies from the ranks of Catholic crusaders.
Each illustration carries a deeper symbolic meaning. Some motifs are based on Gothic depictions found in medieval manuscripts and codices, while others represent later artistic interpretations of the Hussites, for example from the Baroque period.
