Late Medieval Gorget made from 1.2 mm Steel

This stylish medieval gorget not only impresses with its authentic appearance, but also offers excellent value for money. It is the perfect choice for anyone looking to complete their knight’s armour with a detailed, high-quality, yet affordable piece.

The gorget was an essential component of late medieval armour. It evolved in the late Middle Ages from the bevor, which protected the neck and was worn between the suit of armour and the helmet. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the gorget gradually lost its original protective function and became more of a decorative insignia, often worn on a chain.

This wearable reconstruction of late medieval plate armour for the throat and neck (or rather the upper torso) is made from 1.2 mm steel. It consists of two parts—a front (chest) piece and a back piece—fastened on both sides with riveted leather straps. Pre-punched holes in the straps allow for individual adjustment, ensuring optimal protection and a comfortable fit. The edges are rolled all around, and the gorget features a riveted stand-up collar approx. 3 cm high. The back is blackened for improved corrosion resistance.

This gorget is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance settings. Equally suitable for portraying a wide range of historical figures as well as fictional or fantasy characters, it will perfectly complete your transformation into a proud, noble knight or warrior—whether for medieval reenactment, LARP, stage performances, TV/film, costuming, or cosplay.
