This bascinet helmet is made of metal, hand painted and comes on a quality keyring. The bascinet helmet pendant is presented on a keyring card.
This type of bascinet helmet dates back to the 14th century. Early helmets of this type were open combat helmets. As the helmet evolved, a ring neck guard was attached to the helmet, which was later replaced by a metal visor. From about 1380, the visor, which was by then already considerably larger than in earlier types, began to stretch into a conical shape resembling a snout or beak, as seen in this model.
