Wall plaque - Rudolf II.

This decorative plaque is inspired by the famous medal from 1585, created by the famous Italian medallist Antonio Abondio, who worked at the court of Emperor Rudolf II. Habsburg. Rudolf II (1552-1612), Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and King of Bohemia, was renowned as a great patron of the arts and sciences. During his reign, Prague became one of the most important cultural and spiritual centres of Europe at that time. His court attracted scholars, artists and alchemists from all over the continent - among the most famous were Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler.

Rudolf is still associated with alchemy and mysticism today. He was said to have known the secret of transforming the non-noble into the noble and to have regarded alchemy not only as a science but also as a path to a deeper knowledge of the world. His fascination with the mysteries of nature and the cosmos gave rise to the legends that still surround him today.

The plaque is made of artificial stone with an emphasis on detailed relief and historical character. Its dimensions are 130 × 130 × 15 mm. It is suitable as an original interior decoration, a gift for lovers of history, renaissance or mysterious alchemy.
