The replica of the Viking coin SIHTRIC II., Northumbria commemorates the time when England and Ireland were the scene of clashes between the Norse jarls and the Anglo-Saxon kings. The coin bears motifs inspired by actual archaeological finds from the 10th century. It is cast in zinc and hand-patinated to give it an authentic look.
This replica is suitable for history buffs, reenactors, collectors and museums. It can serve as a costume accessory, a prop for historical games or an original souvenir. Its appearance faithfully captures the style and symbolism of the Viking Age kingdoms in Britain.
The coin has a diameter of 2 cm and is made of zinc with a dark patina that brings out the details of the coin. On one side is a triple knot (triquetra), on the other a stylised triangle with rune-like symbols. The replica is inspired by a real coin of the ruler Sihtric II (939-941), who reigned in Northumbria.
