- THORLEIF - Viking bronze bracelet
Viking bronze bracelet in Mammen style, modelled on the "Cross of Thorleif" from the Isle of Man.
The stone cross of Thorleif is dated to the mid to late 10th century. The cross is in the typical shape of Celtic crosses with a central ring, but what makes it special are the three braided bands carved from the stone in a distinctly Scandinavian Mammen style. The runic inscription reads 'Thorleif erected this cross in memory of Fiacus his son, heir to his brother's son'.
Bracelets, along with brooches and brooches, were widely used as jewellery and were important status symbols.
The bracelet is quite flexible and can be easily adjusted. It is ideal for both women and men. Thanks to the asymmetrical shape of the bracelet, the ends can be placed parallel to each other around the arm, so the Viking bracelet can be adapted to a delicate wrist with a circumference of only 14 cm, or you can wear the Viking bracelet open - the circumference will therefore fit a strong wrist up to 19 cm.
