Belt buckle - trilobite Paradoxides gracilis is inspired by one of the most famous Czech trilobites. The solid brass casting captures the characteristic shape of the shell and body structure of this prehistoric animal.
The motif is based on the species Paradoxides gracilis, a trilobite from the Middle Cambrian that is more than 500 million years old. Fossils of this species are known mainly from the Barrandien area, one of the most important palaeontological sites in the Czech Republic.

Trilobites are among the most famous fossils of the Protozoa. They lived in ancient seas approximately 520 to 250 million years ago and their fossils help paleontologists study the evolution of life on Earth. Thanks to their distinctive shape, trilobites have become a popular motif in jewellery, collectibles and natural history decorations.
The buckle is cast in solid brass. After casting, each piece is hand-finished, patinated and re-polished to bring out the details.
Included is a brass frame in two sizes (38mm and 45mm) for easy attachment to the belt.
