The so-called Bobruysk helmet takes its name from the area around the town of Bobruysk in Belarus, where an exceptionally well-preserved helmet was discovered during excavations in 2019. The original find dates to the late 10th or early 11th century. Made of iron and decorated with bronze elements, it is a remarkable example of early medieval helmets from Eastern Europe. Its distinctive pointed shape is typical of helmets from this region and reflects influences from early Kievan Rus, steppe nomads and Scandinavian culture.

This detailed replica faithfully captures the characteristic features of the historical original. It is handcrafted from brass sheet and fitted with steel fittings and copper-coloured reinforcing bands. Numerous rivets, decorative metal elements on the forehead and sides, and the prominent spike at the top of the helmet create its striking appearance.

Inside, an adjustable leather liner allows the fit to be adapted to the wearer’s head for comfortable use. A sturdy leather chin strap with a brass buckle secures the helmet in place and complements its historical appearance.

The helmet is fully wearable and suitable as a costume accessory for historical reenactment, LARP, theatre, television and film productions. It is particularly well suited to outfits depicting early Rus and medieval Eastern Europe. It also makes an attractive addition to any collection of historical helmets. It is not intended for contact combat.
