Inspired by a 14th century helmet, it has a rounded skull and a removable front visor to protect the face. Pins and chains on the sides of the visor secure it in place. The visor can be completely removed and the helmet can be worn as a barbuta. The visor has a wide, rectangular visor for better vision and round openings at the bottom of the face for ventilation. A short ridge gives the helmet a distinctive look.
Inside the helmet is an adjustable, padded cotton canvas liner and leather straps for attachment under the chin. The helmet is worn over a quilted cap and is a great addition to any armor for historical reenactments, renaissance festivals, LARP or other costume events. A Windlass product.
