Moldavite is tektite, a meteoritic glass whose formation is associated with a meteorite impact 15 million years ago. Its occurrence is mainly linked to southern Bohemia and the area around the lower Vltava River. These unique stones are highly valued in the world.
In South Bohemia, there was a custom that every young man gave this stone to his bride-to-be as a token of his deepest feelings. Interestingly, W. Churchill always carried this magic stone in his pocket for good luck.
