The Prague Golem is one of the most famous legends associated with the city of Prague and its Jewish history. According to tradition, it was created in the 16th century by the learned rabbi Rabbi Löw to protect the local community from persecution. The Golem was formed from clay and brought to life through mysterious Hebrew formulas that granted it strength and obedience. It is said that it carried out orders, guarded the ghetto, and intervened against dangers. Over time, however, its power grew beyond control, and the rabbi was forced to destroy it. Legend has it that its body still rests in the attic of the Old-New Synagogue. The story of the Golem became a symbol of protection, but also a warning about a power that humans may not be able to control.
