This medieval shield is an authentic replica of defensive equipment used during the High and Late Middle Ages. Measuring 60 × 45 cm, it corresponds to smaller infantry or cavalry shields designed to provide protection in both close and ranged combat. The core is made of wood and reinforced with a linen covering to increase strength and durability. In the Middle Ages, linen treated with glue or binding agents created a tough, resilient surface capable of withstanding strikes and punctures.

On the reverse side, leather straps are attached for gripping, carefully reconstructed according to archaeological finds and period iconography. These straps allow for a secure hold and good maneuverability during combat. The linen surface can remain untreated or serve as a base for heraldic painting, as was common with knightly shields.

Overall, this is a highly authentic reconstruction suitable for reenactment, museum display, or academic study of medieval military technology, faithfully reflecting the original craftsmanship and materials of the period.
