A piece of jewelry straight out of a fairy tale, featuring a beautiful Czech moldavite. Crafted in a Czech goldsmith’s workshop.
A raw South Bohemian moldavite set in a silver pendant.
If you’re looking for a piece of jewelry with origins in space and a rich history tied to the Czech countryside, then moldavite may be the perfect choice. It was formed approximately 15 million years ago during the impact of a massive meteorite in what is now Bavaria (the Ries Crater). Upon impact, molten rock was propelled high into the atmosphere and fell in the region of South Bohemia, where moldavites can still be found today. They are among the most beautiful tektites in the world and are prized for their green color and naturally sculpted surface.
In southern Bohemia, it was traditionally believed that a young man would give his fiancée a moldavite as a symbol of love and fidelity. According to a popular legend, Winston Churchill also carried this stone for good luck.
Today, vltavines are among the most sought-after gemstones and are admired by gemstone enthusiasts in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Many people attribute purifying and protective powers to them.
