This is a replica of the pattern 1833 French Navy boarding cutlass. This weapon was a favorite of pirates in the Caribbian in the 19th century. It has a full brass basket handguard and a curved cast metal blade 58 cms/23 long. Pommel and grip are cast metal in steel finish.
Total length of sword (blade in black leather scabbard with brass furniture) is 77 cms/30. Weight : 1.6 kgs/ 3.1/2 lbs.
It is ideal for display and roll play, however not battle worthy.
