EGBERT, One-Handed Medieval Sword, Full Tang
One-handed medieval sword from our forge. A very well-designed sword both in construction and craftsmanship, made with a full-tang construction. The entire blade is forged from a single piece and runs through the pommel, where it is peened. In this blunt version, the sword is intended for stage combat.
A top-quality sword designed for re-enactment in a blunt configuration with a so-called sparring blade, which we use for training purposes and dynamic, sportive historical fencing. This blade is narrower and lighter.
The material used is spring steel ČSN 14 260 (54SiCr6), which is ideal for sword making due to its high strength, flexibility, and wear resistance. The silicon and chromium content increases elasticity and toughness, preventing breakage. Another advantage is its excellent heat-treatment capability, allowing the blade to achieve optimal hardness.

What is Full-Tang construction?
Our high-quality medieval swords, developed and manufactured over several years in our forge, respond to the demands of fencers for functional replicas with exceptional durability for historical fencing. They feature a full-tang construction, which has proven to be the most reliable. In these swords, the blade continues in one piece through the grip into the pommel, where it is peened on the surface. This eliminates brazing and thermal stress. As a result, the blade maintains excellent mechanical properties along its entire length.
