The silver pendant with moldavite represents a combination of delicate jewelry craftsmanship and the uniqueness of this Czech gemstone. Moldavite is an exceptionally rare tektite that was formed approximately 15 million years ago during the impact of a massive meteorite in what is now Bavaria. Fragments of molten rock were ejected by pressure and heat as far as the regions of South Bohemia and Moravia, where deposits of this green stone with a cosmic origin were gradually created. Its color ranges from light bottle green to deep emerald shades, always carrying a distinctive mysterious shine that makes it a sought-after gemstone for jewelry as well as a collector’s item.
Moldavites are valued not only for their rarity — their deposits are rapidly diminishing — but also for the traditions associated with them. It is said, for example, that Winston Churchill carried moldavite in his pocket for good luck, and in South Bohemia it was customary to give this stone to women as a symbol of love and protection.
