An artistic replica of a Czech coin minted by King Charles IV. The coin has an image of the Bohemian royal crown and the name of the sovereign on the obverse, and the Czech lion on the reverse.
The Groschen was a silver coin that became very popular in Central Europe, mainly because of its high silver content. It was minted from the year 1300 by Wenceslaus II. The raw material was Ag ore from the Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) ore district.
