Celtic disc brooch from Auvers-sur-Oise.

This remarkable brooch was made after the famous Celtic disc from Auvers-sur-Oise in Val-d'Oise.

The original disc from Auvers-sur-Oise dates from the 4th century BC, from the Celtic Latin period.

The brooch was originally made of gilt bronze inlaid with red coral and is now on display in the Cabinet des Médailles at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris.

The Auvers-sur-Oise filigree brooch is characterised by its delicate appearance.

The brooch measures 5 cm in diameter and is made of high quality cast bronze with red enamel inlays.

A stable pin is attached to the back of the Celtic brooch so that the lighter casing can be easily closed.
