Replica of a small medieval four-leaf brooch. This four-leaf brooch from the High Middle Ages is modelled on an English brooch from Kent dating from the 13th to 14th centuries.

Small brooches in the form of such four-leaf clover brooches were quite common in the High Middle Ages.

Medieval brooches in the form of a closed ring are called ring brooches and were worn by men and women in large parts of Europe during the 13th and 14th centuries to close the neckline of medieval clothing.
