We will never forget our glorious history and we will remember it to keep it in sight and in mind. With this T-shirt we pay our respects to the members and actions of the 311th Czechoslovak Bomber Squadron of the RAF. This was one of four squadrons of the Czechoslovak Air Force within the British Royal Air Force. It was the only bomber squadron, while the other three were fighter squadrons. The squadron's activities in the early years included raids on cities and ports. The squadron then concentrated mainly on patrol flights against the German fleet, particularly submarines, over the Atlantic, the Bay of Biscay and the North Sea. Vilda Jakš, Czech boxer, several times champion of Czechoslovakia and vice-world champion in 1935, was also a member.

The sinking of the German ship Alsterufer on 27 December 1943 in the Bay of Biscay by a Liberator aircraft of the 311th Czechoslovak Squadron of the RAF is considered the greatest achievement of the squadron during World War II.When the ship approached the Bay of Biscay, its cargo consisted of 344 tons of tungsten ore as well as rubber and 200 tons of tin ingots. Tungsten is a mineral ore containing tungsten, iron and manganese, which was highly valued as the main raw material for the production of tungsten, a heavy metal with a high melting point, which was used during World War II. During the Second World War, tungsten was used mainly as an additive in the production of armour steel, as well as quick-cutting tools and ball bearings.
